The Doom Slayer doesn’t have a deep wardrobe in Doom: The Dark Ages, but you can still add some flavor to his look. Among the options, you have the Butcher skin. It gives the Doom Slayer a bloody look, one that represents the feeling of playing this game. And the best part? It’s a free skin.
Claiming the Butcher skin is a quick process — one that doesn’t even require slaying many demons. In this Doom: The Dark Ages guide, we run over all the steps on how to get the free Butcher skin.
How to get the Butcher skin in Doom: The Dark Ages

With the Butcher skin, you lose the military-green armor and change it to a pure steel-gray color with lots of blood over it. This skin can be yours after you claim the free in-game bundle from Bethesda. To do so…
- First, log in to your Bethesda account. (If you don’t have one, setting one up is pretty quick, and you can create an account at this page.)
- Then, visit Bethesda’s site to claim the bundle.
- From there, visit your Bethesda account, where you can find your “Transaction History.” If all went well and you claimed the bundle correctly, it will be listed in this section of your profile.

Now, you may be a seasoned player of Bethesda games and have already linked your platform accounts to your Bethesda account. If so, you just need to open the game and you will be notified that you won the Butcher skin. You can equip it by accessing the “Extras” menu and selecting the “Slayer Skins” option.
In case you haven’t linked your accounts, then you need to get back to your Bethesda account and go to the “Linked Accounts” section. Select the one in which you’re playing Doom: The Dark Ages and it’s done. Now you can enjoy the Butcher skin!
