In Infinity Nikki, the new adventure-focused dress-up game from Infold Games and Papergames, snapping the perfect pic can be just as important as how you style your character. Getting the right lighting and setting — and posing Nikki in just the right way to match the mood of the outfit or look you’re going for — can take just as much time and tinkering as putting together the right outfit.

Unlocking the photo mode is easy. If you continue to play through the game’s main quest, it will appear as a menu option within the first few hours. However, once you get the mode, you’ll find it has loads of options. You can adjust the focal length, aperture, and various aspects of the lighting.

Starting off with a strong one, I liked this photo tutorial from Juju on TikTok. Sure, it might not be the cutest way to stage a photo, but I just love how creepy Nikki looks. She looks straight out of a horror story — so you got to give the photographer points for finding a unique way to take photos.

Continuing with the theme of taking darker photos, I also liked these photo settings from Quokkit on TikTok. These settings don’t produce photos that are quite as scary, but make Nikki and her outfit glow in the dark a bit. It’s the perfect way to show off the patterning and hues of the Flutter Storm outfit.

This photo tutorial from Thegermannikki on TikTok also stood out to me. It goes over how to get a galaxy-esque background that sparkles — specific, but insightful. Nikki has so many sparkly outfits and this could be a great way to highlight them.

If you’re completely new to in-game photography and just want to learn more about the various options, Rod407 on Reddit shared an absolutely incredible guide that goes through the main settings slide by slide with visual aids for each one.

There are several variables that influence the look of each photo. There’s the time of day and location — even the way the light reflects off the fabric of the outfit Nikki is wearing could influence how the photo turns out. On top of all that, the platform you’re playing the game on also might limit the overall quality of the photo or alter how the light looks.
