How to find the terminal password in Blue Prince

The terminal password is a codeword you can use to access additional features of the computers scattered throughout Blue Prince.

As you explore Mt. Holly in Blue Prince, you’ll find computer terminals in certain rooms. They look like old-school desktops. You can interact with one to boot it up, but you need a password to login to the network. The features in this menu are important because they can unlock ability to tell the date and access email.

In this Blue Prince guide, we’ll tell you how to find the terminal password — or, if you’re not spoiler-conscious, we’ll just tell you what the terminal password is.

How to find the terminal password in Blue Prince

You can find the terminal password on the “Staff Notice” document pinned on the bulletin board in Security. However, you can’t actually read the password, because someone crossed it out. (In the slider above, don’t scan through to the second image if you don’t want to see the password just yet.)

To see the word under the scribbles, you need A Wood and Brass Magnifying Glass. Shortened to “magnifying glass,” this item allows you to inspect documents more closely. It is somewhat hard to find, but we have found this item in several different places throughout the manor, including on the table in the Parlor and on a dresser in the Bedroom. The Commissary can sell them as well.

Once you have a magnifying glass, go to Security, walk up to the bulletin board by the coffee station, and click on the staff notice. Hold the magnifying glass over the crossed-out word and you’ll be able to parse the terminal that someone tried to scratch out.

What is the terminal password in Blue Prince?

The terminal password in Blue Prince is: “SWANSONG.”

According to our testing, this terminal password is universal. It doesn’t reset between days and it’s applicable across all save files. Once you know it, you know — you don’t need to go through the effort of finding it again.

You also don’t need to worry about capitalization in the password because the computer font defaults to all caps. To enter this password, just walk up to a computer terminal and select the option, “Login to Network.” It will prompt you to type in a password.

Entering the password will unlock the following menu options: Staff Services, Remote Terminal Access, Electronic Mail, Data Transfers, Glossary of Terms, and Log Out. Note that not every computer will allow you to access every menu item option listed here.

Where to use the terminal password in Blue Prince

You can find terminals in the following rooms: Security, Office, Laboratory, and Shelter.

The terminal password will allow you to access the network in the game. Certain computer terminals have certain privileges. For example, the computer in the Office room will allow you to read email messages whereas others will not.
