We don't know too much about Christopher Nolan's post-Oppenheimer project, but we do know it'll have a seriously impressive cadre of celebrities in it.
We first learned about the project in early October, when it was revealed that Nolan was sticking with Oppenheimer distributer Universal (following a very public split with Warner Bros. a couple of years ago) for his next movie. It's set to release on July 17, 2026, but that's.... pretty much all we know about it. Nolan hasn't revealed anything in the way of a title or plot details, and a recent Deadline report claims that any loglines or descriptions that have been posted online so far are incorrect.
Mystery aside, there was already plenty of speculation about what Nolan would tackle next, especially after winning his first Best Director Oscar for Oppenheimer (in addition to a slew of other awards, including Best Picture). He's always attracted high-profile names to his projects, usually mixing in actors he's worked with before with other celebrities, and so far, this mysterious unnamed project is no different.
See everything we know about who's starring in Nolan's next film below:
Charlize Theron
This'll mark Theron and Nolan's first collaboration, though she's one of the biggest names to sign on so far. An Oscar-winner herself, Theron's long list of credits includes The Italian Job, Hancock, Snow White and the Huntsman, Prometheus, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Fate of the Furious, Atomic Blonde, The Old Guard, F9, and Fast X. Tom Holland
Nolan managed to nab one of the bigger stars of the current generation of actors, getting Spider-Man himself for his next movie. It'll be Holland's first time working with the filmmaker. In addition to playing Peter Parker in the MCU, Holland's known for playing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie and recently appeared in Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room. (Source: THR)
Matt Damon
Damon's name was the first to appear alongside Nolan's when news of the project initially broke. It'll be the third time the two have collaborated, with Damon previously appearing in Interstellar and Oppenheimer. With that, Damon joins Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy as actors who've worked with Nolan at least three times. (Source: Deadline)
Zendaya
Apparently, Nolan really wanted to get some Spider-Man talent into his web. Zendaya, a former Disney star who's risen to worldwide prominence with roles in the MCU, the Dune films, HBO's Euphoria, and Challengers, will be collaborating with Nolan for the first time. (Source: Deadline)
Anne Hathaway
Hathaway also joins the three-timer club with a role in Nolan's upcoming film, having previously worked with him on The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar (which also means a reunion between her and Damon as well). The Oscar-winner is known for roles in films like Les Misérables, The Devil Wears Prada, Ocean's 8, and much more. (Source: Deadline)
Lupita Nyong'o
How many Oscar-winners can Nolan get from this movie? Nyong'o is another first-time Nolan collaborator, but she's had a busy year with A Quiet Place: Day One and The Wild Robot. She's also known for her roles in the MCU as Nakia, Jordan Peele's Us, and her Academy Award-winning turn in 12 Years a Slave. (Source: THR)
Robert Pattinson
After starring alongside John David Washington in 2020's Tenet, Pattinson will be reteaming with Nolan for the first time. Famously, Pattinson actually deserves a bit of credit for Oppenheimer, as the actor gifted Nolan a book of J. Robert Oppenheimer’s speeches while they were on the Tenet set. Otherwise, the former Twilight star has been incredibly busy as of late with roles in The Batman and its upcoming sequel, The Boy and the Heron, and Bong Joon-Ho's forthcoming Mickey 17.
