Thanks to a record-breaking virtual concert, Chapter 6 Season 1 in Fortnite has already garnered plenty of hype from fans online. But not everything is running smoothly since the new season launched on Sunday. In particular, the “Ready Up” button, which appears at the end of a match and allows you to enter a new game, disappeared the same day the new patch went live.

Now, players who want to play multiple matches in a row must return to the lobby to load into another game and suffer the nuisance of an additional step when they want to keep playing.

The official Fortnite Status account on X confirmed the change on Sunday. According to the developers, the team disabled the button to “investigate an issue.” Epic Games didn’t specify a timeframe for when the developers would restore the feature but said that it would return in a “future update.” The post instructed those who want to play another match to return to the lobby and join a new game from there. (Polygon played the game as late as Monday afternoon and the button was still missing.)

This change doesn’t break the overall experience, but it sure can be annoying. I already have to bug my squadmates to click the “Ready Up” button when everything works, so now this adds an extra (and completely unneeded) step to that process. Doing it over and over could add up over time.

The missing button puts a slight damper on what has been a stellar debut for Fortnite’s new season of content. Players attended the “Remix: The Finale” concert featuring Juice WRLD on Saturday in record-breaking numbers. According to Epic Games, the event was the most-viewed Fortnite concert of all time and garnered more than 14 million concurrent players. That, and the introduction of a map and loot pool inspired by Japan, have given players a reason to stay excited for this new era of Fortnite.
