Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender came out almost exactly a year ago. To celebrate the anniversary, Netflix revealed a pretty dang adorable blooper reel from the production. The young cast was one of the highlights of the show, so seeing them goof around and giggle is really endearing. As it turns out, bending without actually bending lends itself to a lot of big, exaggerated facial expressions, which, in turn, leads to a lot of laughs.
The video is available on Netflix’s Tudum. My personal favorite is Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh) and Dallas Liu (Zuko) having a little slap fight. Actually, all of the scenes between Lee and Liu are delightful — they have that Zuko-Iroh banter down.
We probably won’t get another season of Netflix’s Avatar for at least another year (though depending on how you felt about Netflix’s Avatar, that might not be a terrible thing). But it’s been renewed for seasons 2 and 3.
The first season is available on Netflix now — and so is the original animated series, as well as sequel series The Legend of Korra.
