Oni masks are a new addition to Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, with different masks giving you different abilities, depending which type of mask you have. As of this writing, there are two types of mask in Fortnite: Fire and Void.

Where to find oni masks in Fortnite
You can find oni masks in several places in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, depending on the rarity you’re looking for.
Epic (purple) quality masks can be found as drops from chests. There’s a higher chance to find them in the fancy, elemental chests found around the map, which look something like the one below:
The mythic (light yellow) rarity masks can only be obtained from bosses (or eliminating a player who took down the boss and is carrying the mask). Night Rose drops the mythic version of the Void Oni Mask and Shogun X drops the mythic version of the Fire Oni Mask.
You can find Night Rose at the Demon Dojo marked below, but Shogun X teleports around the map randomly until the Shogun Arena spawns on the map. He’ll be marked on the map by his medallion, making him easy to find.
What do oni masks in Fortnite do?
The Fire Oni Mask allows you to shoot fireballs that deal 100 damage each in a small area. You can do this eight times with the epic mask and 16 times with the mythic mask.
The Void Oni Mask allows you to shoot small void blasts forward and then teleport to those blasts. You can do this 15 times with the epic mask and 50 times with the mythic mask.
