What to expect from the Triumphant Light pack in Pokémon TCG Pocket

The Triumphant Light expansion will add new cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket. The trailer teased cards for Tyranitar, Abomasnow, Rotom, Raichu, Crobat, and Arceus ex. This expansion will introduce a new gameplay gimmick called Link Abilities. According to the developers, you can play these cards alongside Arceus or Arceus ex to combine their abilities.

In addition to new cards, two other notable additions are coming to the game. The first is a time-limited event where players can obtain special Genetic Apex: Pikachu and Genetic Apex: Mewtwo booster packs that contain “at least one card with a rarity of four diamonds or higher,” the official site said. The second is that Pokémon TCG Pocket will get a PvP ranked mode sometime in March.

As for the cards we’ll get, we don’t have the full roster yet, but you can take a look at some of the cards with Link Abilities coming to TCG Pocket. Here are some highlights of what’s on the way:

  • Arceus ex is a basic Pokémon that has 140 HP and a retreat cost of two energy. It has an ability called “Fabled Luster” that prevents Arceus from being affected by any special conditions. This card can use the attack “Ultimate Force,” which has a base attack of 70 HP that does 20 additional damage for each of your benched Pokémon.
  • Raichu is a stage 1 Pokémon with 90 HP and a retreat cost of one energy. This new Raichu has an ability called “Resilience Link” that makes it so Raichu takes 30 less damage from attacks whenever you have an Arceus or Arceus ex in play. It can also use the attack “Spark,” which requires two energy. This attack does 40 damage to the active Pokémon and 20 damage to one of your opponent’s benched Pokémon.
  • Crobat is a stage 2 Pokémon that has 110 HP and no retreat cost. Its ability is called “Cunning Link” and it allows Crobat to do 30 damage to your opponent’s active Pokémon once per turn if you have Arceus or Arceus ex in play. It can also use the attack Darkness Fang, which does 50 damage.
