The West Gate is a door in Blue Prince you can reach at the start of each run, but you won’t be able to open it until you’ve drafted a few particular rooms beforehand.
Here’s how to open the West Gate in Blue Prince, and a little bit about what you get for doing so.
How to open the West Gate in Blue Prince
To open the West Gate in Blue Prince, you’ll need to draft the Utility Closet and the Garage on the same day.
You don’t need to draft the Utility Closet (also home to the breaker box puzzle) before drafting the Garage, but you’ll need to draft it before trying to open the garage door. Once you’ve drafted the Utility Closet, open the breaker box within, and turn on power to the Garage. That’ll allow you to open the garage door after you’ve drafted the Garage.
The Garage can only be constructed on the furthest west (left-most) column of your floor plan. Once built, open the garage door, take the outside path all the way south, then go left at the fork to unlatch the West Gate from behind.

This will reveal the West Path, which leads to a chamber allowing you to build outer rooms — blueprints that tend to grant helpful boons.
Revealing the West Path is a permanent upgrade, by the way, so once you go through the above steps once, you’ll have access to outdoor rooms at the start of all future runs.
